I recently replaced my phone system company to accommodate an increased volume of calls he was receiving. I own a car rental franchise and require new lines and installed new phones to go along with the customer service representative that I needed to hire again. By taking care of my clients and keep my car clean and available, I was able to build my business and force the closure of one of my two closest competitors. The flow of customers meant I had to act quickly to take advantage of my good fortune. Like most people, I gave little thought to my phone system and just decided to go with the cheapest solution I could find.I bought a new system that they said would take care of my volume. At first, I was more than satisfied, as everything was running fine and no problems. Shortly after putting the new phone system in place, we have reduced our rental rates to try to get more customers to switch to my competition with my now deceased instead of my one remaining competitor. Although it was operating at a loss for two months, my strategy was a success and my business has increased again. The problem was that the phone system I bought was designed to handle only a small number of lines, and I was already at full capacity. While an improvement over my first system, which had limitations that I had not considered. I had to put in place again, but this time I had the sense to go with a system that can grow with my business. Luckily, I was able to get some credit for returning the second phone system, which went to the new system. However, I lost money, and had only been less concerned about the bottom line and more concerned about getting what you really needed, I would have done better. When buying a phone system in your company, make sure you buy one that is not exceeded if the business starts booming. I wish someone had told me before I made the mistake of trying to save a few bucks.
